Simplyrich Advisor's Portfolio (SAP)
Read How I Am Invested? to understand the background behind this report. This page will have the most up-to-date information on the current targets I am using for my personal portfolio (which will change periodically as a result of reevaluation of strategy, changes in my personal circumstances, and the availability of new investment vehicles). Remember that "current" represents the last month listed in the results table on this page, and not necessarily the date you are reading this page! Also keep in mind that I may allow my investments to stray from their targets without rebalancing for a considerable amount of time, and that I rarely bother to check my investments between updates of this page.
The balance at July 31, 2007, when I started posting this information publicly, was actually considerably higher than $10,000 (mind your own business), but I have included a column to show how $10,000 at July 31, 2007 would have changed based on the ACTUAL results of my own investment portfolio each month since then. My portfolio may be reviewed by government regulators from time to time, who are likely to make sure that my claims on this page are consistent with the performance of my actual portfolio, and I'll let you know if and when that occurs. Those of a more suspicious mind may, of course, figure out for themselves how the allocations on this page would have worked for someone following them, but keep in mind that the current target allocation is not necessarily the same as the allocation in earlier periods, so you'll have to check the site every month to keep up with changes. Even then, there will probably be tiny discrepancies because I'm rounding to the nearest percentage point in reporting and I don't reinvest cash dividends and new IRA contributions immediately, but generally wait until a category has fallen far enough below the target to motivate me to rebalance with the idle cash (sitting in my core Fidelity money market fund).
Naturally, if the portfolio starts to make me look bad, I'll probably come up with a really good excuse to delete this page entirely, but my current intention is to leave this posted and update it continually for the rest of my life. So that I'm not accused of cheating, I am not listing my historical returns before making the decision to post, but I can assure you that my failure to do so is not the result of any embarrassment over my returns before July 31, 2007.
